Even after committing a new crime to the "heroes" wars in Ukraine are treated with leniency.
In the Ivanovo region of Russia, out of 300 former prisoners who fought as part of the occupation army on the territory of Ukraine, 120 were detained for new crimes.
The Russian Telegram channel “We Can Explain” reports this with reference to a leak of information from a meeting in the local department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
We are talking mainly about “Wagnerites” who were recruited in prison and, upon arriving home, again went “in all seriousness.”
It is characteristic that even after committing a new crime, Russian judges treat the “Wagnerites” leniently. Their lawyers appeal to the “heroism” of their clients, revealed during the so-called “SVO”, so the court does not send the detainees under arrest to a pre-trial detention center, but is limited to house arrest.
Similar cases are also reported in other Russian regions: prisoners who received pardon for “military merits” on the territory of Ukraine are taking up the old ways again.
Agency journalists counted almost three dozen Russians killed by Wagnerites who returned after the war. Having handed over their army weapons, they take up hunting rifles, knives, gasoline and other improvised means to torture and kill their next victims.
Recall that in the fall of 2023, in the Nizhny Novgorod region of the Russian Federation, a former “Wagnerite” burned his sister during a quarrel. Coming from the war, where he ended up straight from the “zone,” he lived with a relative, where he started a fire.
