Thus, Russian Angelina (name changed) buried her husband in winter husband, and later found out that he was alive and still in Ukraine.
The woman said that her husband was serving a sentence in one of the Russian colonies. The fact that he was recruited into the Wagner PMC, Angelina learned from a relative of another convict. The woman shared her doubts about her husband's voluntary consent to the company's offer. According to the Russian woman, the man treated Ukraine well.
In the fall, the former prisoner was sent to Ukraine and stopped communicating. In December, Angelina received a phone call from employees of PMC “Wagner”, who reported that her husband had died in the Bakhmut region. Later, his family was given a closed zinc coffin, medals from Wagner, a certificate of honor and a death certificate.
At the same time, Angelina was convinced of the impossibility of a mistake when she asked if her husband's body was really in the coffin.
“They told us that there was no need to open the coffin, because before sending (to the front – ed.) they they take some DNA and when the corpses are found, they compare. They told us that they give us a 100% guarantee that it is him,” the woman said.
A few weeks after the funeral, a stranger wrote to Angelina that her husband is alive and in DebaltseveDonetsk region. A few days later, another unknown person called the woman from a Ukrainian number, introducing himself as an employee of the SBU. He said that the husband of the Russian woman was alive and was taken prisoner at the end of October 2022. The stranger also described the wound of the mercenary, from which, according to the Wagner worker, Angelina's man died. The interlocutor said that as a result, the man's life was saved.
After that, the woman turned to the Federal Penitentiary Service, where she was refused to provide information about her husband. At the same time, the military commander's office confirmed that the ex-prisoner was listed as wounded and taken prisoner.
It is noted that Dozhd journalists managed to find several more similar stories in social networks and telegram chats< /strong>. So, having received a coffin, some of the relatives are afraid to open it, and representatives of the PMC “Wagner” strongly recommend not to do this.
Recall, according to the US data as of December 2022, the owner of the PMC “Wagner” Yevgeny Prigozhin sent 50,000 mercenaries to fight in Ukraine.
Note that the troupes of “Wagnerites” literally strewn the areas around Bakhmut and Soledar, where the invaders are unsuccessfully trying to capture the entire Donetsk region. According to military expert Oleg Zhdanov, Prigozhin “has his own interests in salt mines and limestone.”
