The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) responded to the words of the head of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR) Elena Vyalbe about the receipt of therapeutic exceptions for Norwegian athletes, which, in her opinion, is a loophole for victories. This is reported by “Championship.com”.
According to the representative of the organization, due to the stress and exposure to cold air, skiers do often suffer from asthma. “Taking inhaled asthma medications such as salbutamol in therapeutic doses is not prohibited. When inhalation is carried out using a nebulizer, athletes often exceed the permissible threshold for drug administration, ”WADA noted.
