The Dane Magnus Cort Nielsen won his second stage win on the 76th Tour of Spain. The 28-year-old won the twelfth stage over 175 km from Jaen to Cordoba on Thursday in a mass sprint ahead of the Italian Andrea Bagioli and the Australian Michael Matthews.

Felix Großschartner (Bora-Hansgrohe) sprinted to sixth and is still tenth in the overall standings. His young Upper Austrian compatriot Tobias Bayer (Alpecin) fell and had to retire with a shoulder injury.

There was no change in the overall ranking. The Norwegian Odd Christian Eiking is 58 seconds ahead of the French Guillaume Martin and 1:56 minutes ahead of top favorite Primoz Roglic from Slovenia.

The tour continues on Friday with the 13th stage of 203.7 km from Belmez to Villanueva de la Serena. Then there could be a sprint finish again. The third major national tour of the year ends on September 5th with an individual time trial in Santiago de Compostela.
