Italy cheers, only Donnarumma hesitates
Bitter return for Gianluigi Donnarumma to Milan! The goalie was whistled by his own fans.
After winning the European Championship with Italy, the EM hero of the Tifosi moved from his home club AC Milan to PSG in Paris on a free transfer.
The fans in Milan have not yet forgiven him for that. At the Nations League semi-final against Spain in San Siro, the goalie was whistled violently.
After all, Milan put a contract extension with a big raise on the table. But the 22-year-old decided to decline the offer and moved to Paris.
Things are not going according to plan there, however, Donnarumma is only number two behind veteran Keylor Navas. The goalie became a hero in the European Championship final against England, he held the decisive attempt on penalties.
