The issue of appealing to the President of Russia on the need to recognize the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR) will be considered on Tuesday, February 15, based on a rating vote. This was announced by State Duma speaker Vyacheslav Volodin on Telegram.

The plenary session will consider two draft resolutions on addressing the head of state. The first draft is a document submitted to the State Duma by deputies from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. It provides for immediate referral to the President immediately after possible House approval.

The second draft resolution, proposed by deputies from the United Russia faction, provides for sending the document first to the Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Defense and other responsible departments.

According to Volodin, they will accept the option that receives the largest number of votes in the rating voting.

Earlier it was reported that deputies from United Russia submitted to the State Duma a draft resolution on sending a draft appeal on the recognition of the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR for consultations to the Foreign Ministry. The authors of the draft resolution were Artem Turov and Viktor Vodolatsky.

In turn, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov emphasized that he did not consider it appropriate to comment on this proposal before it was considered in parliament.
