Volksbank and its long-term insurance partner Ergo Austria have prematurely extended their cooperation agreement until the end of 2032, as the two companies announced on Monday. In the course of a new tender, the insurer scored points with sustainability and digitization. Ergo Austria belongs to the Munich Re Group through the German Ergo Group.
The premium volume of Ergo Versicherung in Austria in 2019 was 535 million euros, according to a presentation on the company's website. Life insurance accounted for more than 80 percent of this. Around 640 people were employed. According to the press release, the Association of Volksbanks has total assets of EUR 28.9 billion and serves around 1.1 million customers in Austria with around 3,400 employees in 264 sales outlets (as of June 30, 2020).
