Alexander Volkov
Russian heavyweight Alexander Volkov will take part in the Absolute Fighting Championship (UFC) tournament on October 25 and will fight before the main fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Justin Gatji. This was reported in the UFC Russia Instagram account.
American Walt Harris will become the rival of the 31-year-old Russian. In the main fight of the evening for the UFC lightweight title, Nurmagomedov and Gatji will be beaten. Umar and Abubakar Nurmagomedovs will also perform at the tournament.
The last time Volkov went to the octagon was in June. Then the Russian took part in the tournament in the USA. The fight with his participation led the event in Las Vegas. The fight with American Curtis Blades lasted all five rounds and ended with the defeat of the Russian heavyweight by decision.
Volkov will fight in front of Nurmagomedov for the second time. In October 2018, he competed at UFC 229, losing to Derrick Lewis. In the main battle of the event, Nurmagomedov defeated the Irishman Conor McGregor.
Volkov is a former Bellator champion. In the UFC, the Russian won five victories and suffered two defeats.
