The Russian vaccine against coronavirus infection “Sputnik V” does not affect the human genome, and the adenoviruses it contains cannot multiply in the human body. This was announced on Saturday, July 3, by Alexei Agranovsky, professor of the Department of Virology, Faculty of Biology, Moscow State University.
– Even a “wild” adenovirus, getting into the nucleus of our cells, is present as an episome, a separate unit. It does not interact with the nucleus, does not interact with DNA and the genome as a whole, does not integrate anywhere, '' the virologist emphasized in an interview with Ura.ru.
He noted that adenovirus can reproduce only in a special culture of fermenter cells, so it remains in the cells of the human body only for two weeks after vaccination.
His colleague, Doctor of Biological Sciences Sergei Netesov agreed with the opinion of Alexei Agranovsky. The expert added that adenoviruses, on the basis of which the Russian drug Sputnik V, was created, had a part of the genome specially removed.
As the site kp.ru wrote, earlier the NMIC of Endocrinology of the Ministry of Health of Russia also reported that the Sputnik V vaccination does not have a negative effect on the male reproductive system.
