According to her, all viruses have their own rhythm of ups and downs. The coronavirus is characterized by a pattern when a new strain appears, circulates for about two years, and then declines. After that, within 8-10 years, cases of the disease, as a rule, do not have a mass character. With the advent of a new mutation, this cycle repeats, said Demina.
“If you think logically, around the new year, the COVID-19 pandemic should decline. Moreover, now we are successfully introducing vaccination, ”the virologist emphasized.
Earlier, the WHO said that the world is at a very dangerous stage in the development of the coronavirus pandemic due to the spread of the Indian Delta strain. This mutation has been identified in 92 countries.
