A DAF truck driver, violating traffic rules, drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a Mercedes Sprinter shuttle bus. The Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky spoke about the circumstances of the accident in the Chernihiv region, in which 13 people died, and expressed condolences to the families and friends of the victims.
– The police are investigating the circumstances of the tragedy and conducting the necessary investigative actions. I urge everyone to carefully follow the rules of the road! After all, their violation is paid not only by fines, but also by the lives of innocent people, – the minister wrote on the social network.
He warned about the responsibility of drivers and owners of commercial vehicles who drive like this called bald tires, and those who exceed the speed and maneuvering rules.
Monastyrsky said that in December, on his initiative, the Verkhovna Rada will introduce bills aimed at improving road safety.
