Vienna is strengthening itself with two more professionals

Daniel Luxbacher, most recently at St. Pölten in the Bundesliga, is coming, as is Anel Hajric from Slovenia.

The Vienna obligated continue to prepare for the march into the second division. Daniel Luxbacher and Anel Hajric strengthen the traditional club in the Regionalliga Ost. Luxbacher was awarded a two-year contract, Hajric a one-year contract.

Luxbacher looks back on 142 games in the Austrian Bundesliga for Altach and St. Pölten, as well as 97 games in the 2nd division for FC Lustenau. The central midfielder will play with his younger brother Bernhard Luxbacher in a team that has been with Vienna for a year.

Anel Hajric joins the Blue-Yellows on a free transfer from the Slovenian first division club NK Celje. The 1.95 m tall Slovenian has already played in the Slovenian first and second division, as well as in the Belgian second division and the Bosnian first division. All in all, the 25-year-old striker has made twelve first division and 67 second division games, in which he scored 53 times. The Maribor-born right-footed player has also played in six UEFA Youth League games for his home club NK Maribor.

“With Daniel Luxbacher and Anel Hajric, we have signed two more players of great quality who will further increase the level of our squad overall. We are now well prepared for the comeback season in the regional league. Of course it will take some time for the team to get used to it, but the boys are motivated and I am sure we will play a good role in the coming season, ”said sports director Markus Katzer.

A total of eight reinforcements

So the Döblinger hold at eight reinforcements. In addition to Luxbacher and Hajric, Andreas Lukse, Markus Wostry, Stephan Schimandl, Oliver Bacher, Raphael Strasser, Marek Szotkowski signed for blue-yellow.

Vienna ended the training camp in Schladming on Friday. On Sunday, the team of head coach Alexander Zellhofer will meet second division Kapfenberg in the first round of the UNIQA-ÖFB-Cup on the Hohe Warte (11:00 a.m.). The championship in the Regionalliga Ost starts on July 30th. The first game is away in Stripfing (6:30 p.m.). At home, on the Hohe Warte, Austria's oldest football club will play against Draßburg for the first time on August 6th at 5:30 p.m.
