The Austrian authorities decided to close two mosques in Vienna, which were visited by Kuytim Feyzulai, who committed a terrorist attack on November 2, which killed 4 people.
It also became known that Erich Zettler, head of the state office for the protection of the constitution and the fight against terrorism, voluntarily left his post. This was announced at a press conference in Vienna by the President of the Vienna Police Gerhard Pürstl.
Earlier, the miscalculations in the activities of the department were openly acknowledged by the Minister of the Interior of Austria Karl Nehammer.
Now it is quite obvious that two German radical Islamists contacted the Vienna terrorist Kuytim Feyzulai, who was early released from prison, in July this year. The German police informed their colleagues in the Office for the Protection of the Constitution and the Fight against Terrorism in Vienna about this.
But this message, as well as information from the Slovak intelligence about Feyzulai's desire to acquire ammunition, was ignored in Vienna, even though the future terrorist was under police surveillance, as a person prone to committing serious crimes. No one paid attention, for example, to the fact that Feyzulai posted his photos with weapons and machetes on social networks.
The cost of official negligence of the Austrian special services is too high, therefore, it is likely that Tsvetler's resignation is not the last.
