For the first time, the Russian Navy has tested the Zircon hypersonic missile from the Severodvinsk nuclear submarine. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
– For the first time, the Russian Navy has tested the Zircon hypersonic missile from the Severodvinsk nuclear submarine. The shooting was carried out at a conditional sea target in the water area of the Barents Sea, – reads the message of the department.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense reported that more than 12 new laser-optical and radio-technical complexes will appear in Russia until 2025, implementing various principles for the detection and recognition of space objects. The department recalled that the first such complex is successfully on alert in the Altai Territory.
Later, the general director of Sevmash, Mikhail Budnichenko, said that the state tests of the carrier of the Poseidon submarines – the nuclear submarine of the nuclear submarine Belgorod – would be completed by the end of 2021. At the same time, the state tests of the nuclear submarines “Novosibirsk” and “Prince Oleg” should be completed. As part of factory and state tests, they will make several more exits to the sea.
