It is reported that recently the owners of video cards began to complain about leaking silicone thermal pads in the devices. These thermal pads are used to conduct heat away from the memory chips and the power supply subsystem (VRM) to the cooling system.
The fact is that some GPUs, in particular NVIDIA models of the Ampere generation, have a feature that can be compensated for by using thick thermal pads. And now, as it turned out, not all manufacturers use quality components. In some cases, this even leads to bending of the PCB and to leakage.
This problem applies to MSI, Gigabyte, and other manufacturers.
