In Northern Ireland, the fuses burned with a goalie after conceding a goal. He flew from the square.
At a league game in Northern Ireland there was a curious red card on Saturday. FC Glentoran goalkeeper Aaron McCarey was thrown off the pitch because he was so angry with his teammate Bobby Burns after conceding a goal that he choked him and knocked him to the ground.
According to the rules, the exclusion is correct. Assault, even against a teammate, therefore results in a red card. The game against Coleraine ended 2-2.
Glentoran trainer Mick McDermott didn't want to make a drama out of the post-game scene. McCarey said in the dressing room that the expulsion should not have happened: “Aaron understands, Bobby understands, everyone understands,” said the coach. He could not see a crack in the team, it was a welded group.
BIG TALKING POINT 😲 @ Glentoran goalkeeper Aaron McCarey sees red for lashing out at team-mate Bobby Burns during their side's 2-2 draw with Coleraine at the Oval.
