Vertu has introduced a premium foldable smartphone. This is reported by the GizmoChina edition.
The Ayxta Fold 5G is a modified version of the Royole Flexpai 2 folding smartphone released in the fall. The device has a half-folding body and a flexible 7.8-inch screen with a resolution of 1920×1440 pixels. The device has received a leather finish and a gold lettering Vertu applied to the case.
The device also received a Snapdragon 865 chip, support for 5G networks, eight gigabytes of RAM and 256 gigabytes of internal memory. On the back of the device there is a camera with four lenses with a resolution of 64, 32, 16 and 8 megapixels. The Ayxta Fold 5G features a 4450mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The cost of the clamshell was $ 7,000 or more than half a million rubles.
Comparing the model with the Royole FlexPai 2, the authors noticed that the new device differs not only in the presence of leather inserts, but also in the waterOS 2.0 shell based on Android 10. The device can be purchased on the Chinese marketplace JD.com.
The British company Vertu was founded in 1998 as a subsidiary of Nokia. The brand came out with premium-class phones, the cases of which were made of expensive materials – titanium, gold, platinum.
In December 2019, the Escobar Fold 1 foldable smartphone, created by the company of the drug lord's brother Pablo Escobar, entered the market. Later it turned out that the new device is a customized copy of the Chinese brand Royole.
