Vaccination certificate: Brunner rules out guidelines for AUA by politicians

Aviation State Secretary Magnus Brunner explains that requesting proof of vaccination is a “corporate policy decision”.

He is personally in favor of getting vaccinated as quickly as possible so that “we can get back to normal as quickly as possible,” said State Secretary Magnus Brunner, responsible for aviation, to the Ö1 morning journal today. But: “We will not make specifications.” Whether airlines require a vaccination certificate from their passengers is a “corporate policy decision”. The Australian airline Qantas has already announced this.

At the moment, the main thing is to distribute the vaccines as quickly as possible, according to the Ö1 Morgenjournal. Austria and Vienna Airport are well equipped for this, says Brunner. At Vienna Airport there is a “competence center” for this in the form of the new Pharma Handling Center, which is located in the cargo area. Medicines are taken from the aircraft in special containers and prepared for further transport – without interrupting the cold chain.
