Users are outraged by Apple's new ad

by alex

Apple has released a new ad in which a man holds an iPhone 12 to his ear while it rains down on him. The advertisement, of course, angered users who know that the smartphone is not 100% protected from water, and “drowning” is not subject to warranty repair.

The ad has a slogan: “Splash and water resistant. Don't worry, this is an iPhone. ” Apple's 12 Series smartphones are indeed IP68 certified. However, it does not imply that the device will not “die” under water. Even pouring rain can be dangerous for your smartphone. And after such damage, the service will not repair the device for free.

Apple has already been sued over this issue. Users have said that the company is misleading consumers with its waterproof advertisements. Apple claims to guarantee protection against moisture, but does not include violations of it in the warranty service. The company was fined for this.

Whether Apple will be sued over the new ad is unclear.
