US strategic bombers conducted exercises in August and September, simulating attacks on military targets in southern Russia. This was stated by the chief of the main operational directorate of the Russian General Staff Sergei Rudskoy, according to the message of the Ministry of Defense, received by the editorial office of Lenta.ru.

“On September 4 and 14, US Air Force B-52H planes worked out to reach the lines of using cruise missiles over the Black and Azov Seas with simulated missile strikes at targets in the Southern Military District,” the department noted. They clarified that American planes were approaching the border at a distance of up to 11 kilometers.

The military department noted that in recent months a high level of military activity by the United States and its NATO allies near the borders of Russia has been recorded. In particular, the intensity of the actions of the naval forces and strategic aviation in the Black Sea region has increased.

It is noted that Moscow assigns full responsibility for a possible escalation of the situation in the region entirely to the United States and its NATO allies.
