The United States decided to supply Javelin anti-tank missile systems (ATGM) to another European country. As reported by the Agency for Cooperation in the Field of Defense and Security, which is part of the Pentagon, the authorities approved the supply of $ 125 million to Lithuania, RIA Novosti reports.
“The State Department issued a ruling approving a possible foreign military sale to the Lithuanian government of Javelin missiles and related equipment at an estimated cost of $ 125 million,” the military noted, adding that the United States Congress had been notified of the deal.
Vilnius, taking into account the requests received, will be sent 341 FGM-148F missiles and 30 Javelin ATGM command and launch units, as well as charging units, simulators and reference materials, and technical support will be provided.
Earlier, the Pentagon reported that the United States in October 2021 transferred to Ukraine 30 launchers of Javelin anti-tank missile systems and 180 missiles for them. The corresponding package of military assistance was approved by the President of the United States Joe Biden.
