US withdrew from Paris Climate Agreement

by alex

The United States has officially withdrawn from the Paris Climate Agreement. TASS reports.

It is noted that the withdrawal from the agreement was completed a year after the country notified the UN of its desire to withdraw from the obligations.

US President Donald Trump announced his withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement back in June 2017, because he believed that the document imposes opaque economic obligations on American companies and taxpayers. He admitted that later Washington could rejoin the treaty, but on more favorable terms.

The 2015 Paris Agreement stipulates that humanity should not allow an increase in the average temperature of the planet by more than 1.5 degrees. A global warming of two degrees will cause unpredictable changes in the atmospheric circulation system. There will be intense melting of glaciers, which in turn will lead to a rise in sea levels.
