Rutte called on the United States to continue military support for Ukraine.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte warned Donald Trump that the United States could face a terrible threat from China, Iran and North Korea. This will happen if Ukraine is forced to make concessions to end the war with Russia.

Rutte said this in an interview with the Financial Times.

“We cannot allow a situation where Kim Jong-un and the Russian leader, Xi Jinping and Iran are jointly happy that we have come to an agreement that does not suit Ukraine, because in the long term this will pose a serious security threat not only for Europe, but also for the United States,” Rutte said.

Rutte added that Russia, China, the DPRK and Iran are closely cooperating in military and economic matters. And this will intensify wars both in Ukraine and in the Middle East.

“These different parts the world, where conflicts occur and which politicians must manage, are increasingly united. And there is Xi Jinping, who is watching very closely what will come of this,” the NATO Secretary General said.

According to Rutte, the priority is to strengthen military support for Ukraine before possible peace talks with the Russian Federation. After all, when Zelensky decides to start negotiations, he must do so from a position of strength.

Earlier, Rutte said that NATO countries and newly elected US President Donald Trump will be able to bring Russian President Vladimir Putin to the negotiating table when Ukraine has a stronger position.
