US Vice Presidential Candidates Debate: What They Said

by alex

Both candidates spoke in favor of supporting allies.

US Vice Presidential candidates Democrat Tim Walz and Republican J.D. Vance criticized each other for their approaches to foreign policy. At the same time, both agreed on the need to support allies.

The politicians said this during the televised debates, Ukrinform reports.

Thus, Walz criticized the Republicans and called US presidential candidate Donald Trump dangerous.

“The world saw at the debates a few weeks ago: Donald Trump, almost 80, who only talks about the size of the crowd is not what we need now. And it's not just that. Those who were closer to Trump understand how dangerous he is, when the world is in such danger,” the Democratic vice presidential candidate said.

Walz recalled that the previous White House chief of staff, John Kelly, called Trump the most imperfect person he had ever met. Walz also said that both of Trump's defense secretaries and national security advisers said that the Republican should not even come near the White House.

In addition, the Democratic vice presidential candidate cited Vance's words criticizing Trump. He once said that Trump was unfit for the top job.

“What we've seen from Vice President Harris is stable leadership. We've seen stability that can attract coalitions, bring them together, understanding that our allies are important,” Walz said.

He stressed that Harris's team intends to protect the United States and its allies.

In turn, Vance said that Trump, during his tenure as president, “has effectively ensured stability in the world, doing so by establishing effective deterrence.”

The Republican candidate accused the administration Biden-Harris in facilitating the flow of money to Iran, which is now using it to buy and produce weapons.

Vance supported Israel's right to respond to Iran.

“It's up to Israel what they do to keep their country safe. And we have to support our allies wherever they are when they fight bad guys,” the Republican said.

By the way, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called the most important result of his recent visit to the United States that the state maintained bipartisan support for the United States States.
