Ukraine and the USA signed an agreement on guarantees security for 10 years. However, everything depends on how these deals will be implemented in practice.
Military expert Vladislav Seleznev told about this in an interview with OBOZ.UA.
“We already have a memorandum signed in Budapest, where the guarantor countries promised us the preservation of sovereignty and territorial integrity, but, as we know, one of the guarantor countries violated this memorandum”,” the message says.
The expert emphasizes that these agreements have not been ratified in national parliaments. Therefore, the question arises about their verification and effectiveness.
“The same applies to the agreement with the United States. This document will not pass through Congress, so look back at Donald Trump, and he has a rather principled position on the Russian-Ukrainian confrontation. On June 13, he said: what is the benefit for America from the fact that Ukraine defeats Russia? I think he acts like a politician if he is elected to the presidency. he denounces and neutralizes all cases of military-technical cooperation with our country”,” said Seleznev.
He added that large-scale supplies of weapons and equipment – only these factors are decisive in supporting the efforts of the Ukrainian army and the Ukrainian people.
Recall that US President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Italy, signed a 10-year bilateral security agreement on June 13. It should strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities and become a step towards possible NATO membership.
