As is known, Iran-linked Houthi militants have been attacking international shipping near Yemen since November last year in solidarity with the Palestinians in Israel's war with Hamas.

The attacks were retaliated by the US and UK. It has also disrupted global trade as ship owners reroute their ships from the Red Sea and the Suez Canal to the longer route around the southern tip of Africa.

Earlier, Israel confirmed a retaliatory strike on Saturday, July 20, on a fuel train and refinery near the Yemeni port of Hodeida.
