The United States has approved the sale of fifth-generation F-22 Raptor fighters to Israel, Air Recognition reported.
“Following the decision to sell the F-35 Lightning II to the United Arab Emirates, the United States has now given the green light to sell approximately 50 F-22 Raptor units to Israel for an estimated $ 10.4 billion, an unprecedented decision as this advanced fighter never sold abroad, ”the newspaper writes.
In October, Breaking Defense announced that the US would pay Israel for the sale of fifth-generation F-35 Lightning II fighters to the UAE by providing direct access to secret satellites of the Space-Based Infrared System (SBIRS).
In the same month, Bloomberg, citing sources, reported that the US State Department had notified Congress of support for a proposal to sell 50 F-35 fighters to the UAE.
