The administration of US President Joe Biden will allocate another $ 125 million to Ukraine as part of a new military aid package, said Pentagon spokesman John Kirby. TASS reports.

According to Kirby, the assistance provided includes “training, equipment and briefing efforts to help Ukraine's forces maintain the country's territorial integrity, secure its borders, and improve interoperability with NATO.” He also clarified that Washington intends to continue to transfer so-called lethal weapons to Kiev. The military department believes that this will help Ukraine “more effectively defend itself against Russian aggression.”

John Kirby explained that the military aid package consists mainly of two Mark IV patrol ships, “which will help Ukraine defend its territorial waters.” In general, the United States will transfer eight such patrol boats to Ukraine in the 2020-2021 fiscal year, four more were sold through the US Department of State. However, this package does not include Javelin missiles. Kirby promised the Pentagon would release details of a new military aid package to Ukraine at a later date.

Earlier, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, during a conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry Kuleba, promised Ukraine active assistance. Blinken promised to continue to actively help Ukraine in the economic and military spheres. The Secretary of State stressed that the United States is giving “priority attention to the sovereignty, territorial integrity and Euro-Atlantic aspirations of Ukraine.”
