US Strikes Iran: Pentagon Makes First Statements

The US strikes destroyed Iran's nuclear program and did not target its military or population.

The United States destroyed Iran's nuclear program and these strikes were not directed against the country's army or people.

This was stated by US Secretary of Defense Pete Gegseth during a Pentagon press conference.

“The US has destroyed Iran's nuclear program. The strikes were not directed against Iranian troops or citizens. Trump seeks peace. Iran must accept this. Iran's ambitions have been destroyed,” Geghset said in his address.

According to him, the US actions are not aimed at escalating the conflict, but at ending the threat from Iran, which has long advanced its nuclear program in defiance of international agreements.

The operation against Iranian nuclear infrastructure involved B-2 Spirit strategic bombers dropping bunker busters.

Geghset also warned that in the event of any retaliatory action by Iran, the United States would launch an even more massive strike.

Recall that on June 22, the US bombed Iran's nuclear facilities from planes. According to Trump, the facilities in Fordow, Natanga and Isfahan “were completely and irreparably destroyed.”
