Fox News reported that hackers attacked the US State Department. Moreover, the attack could have been carried out several weeks ago.
It will be reported that information about a possible hacking was sent by the Ministry of Defense. The State Department itself commented on the situation as follows: “The Department is serious about its responsibility to protect its information and is constantly taking measures to ensure the protection of information.”
The State Department is currently unable to discuss the nature or extent of possible cybersecurity incidents for security reasons.
It is worth noting that the scale of the hacker attack is also unclear. It is also unknown what were undertaken to mitigate the consequences of the cyberattack.
So far, the US authorities have not managed to accuse anyone of the hacker attack. Earlier, the US government, the European Union and NATO accused the Chinese authorities of collaborating with hackers.
