Senators from the Democratic Party intend to increase assistance toUkraine and ensure its uninterrupted supply.
This is reported by The Washington Post.
“In my opinion, there are a large number of Republicans who support Ukraine. What happens in the next few weeks, the issue of additional aid for Ukraine will be a big test,” said Senator Amy Klobuchar.
Her view is shared by Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal.
“We will do everything possible to ensure that assistance to Ukraine is continuous. I am sure that this is quite possible,” he said.
He noted that the way to secure additional funding still remains unknown.
“The Senate will be negotiating relief in the next few days,” he said.
The senator said that on the issue of extending the funding deadline, none of his Democratic colleagues have said they will vote against support for Ukraine.
Blumenthal's colleague Petty Murray also said that additional funding for Ukraine will be accepted soon.
“I am confident that we have done the right thing for our country, and we will succeed in doing the right thing regarding Ukraine. We are not giving up,” she emphasized.
