“The window for diplomacy with Russia remains open,” the US State Department stressed.

The US State Department does not see signs indicating a clear withdrawal of the Russian military from the Ukrainian borders.

This was stated at a briefing on Wednesday, February 16, by the head of the press service of the State Department, Ned Price.

He accused Russian officials of provocations, who “spread information in the media that could serve as a pretext for an invasion.” Meanwhile, Price stressed that the window for diplomacy with Russia remains open.

Also, no signs of de-escalation are seen in NATO. The Secretary General of the Alliance said that there are Russian military forces on the border of Ukraine, ready for an invasion. According to him, the Russian defense ministers considered the continuation of Russia's buildup of forces on the territory of Ukraine.

In turn, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky believes that the Russian side is rotating troops near the Ukrainian border, but small ones. Which also indicates that the Russian Federation does not withdraw troops from our borders. At the same time, the Ukrainian president notes that the situation at the borders is under control.
