US scientists have developed a rejuvenating method for men
It is possible to reduce your biological age by three years in two months. At the same time, you need to change your lifestyle. This conclusion was made by scientists from Yale University after a study, the results of which were published in the journal Aging .
The participants in the experiment were 43 men aged 50 to 72 years. For two months, their diet included a lot of vegetables and fruits, lean meats and fish, and prebiotics. Five days a week, men were required to devote at least half an hour to physical exercise, including breathing, aimed at reducing stress levels. The subjects were supposed to sleep at least seven hours a day. The technique was built on the basis of earlier works that showed the influence of certain factors on biological age. As a result, over the two months of the experiment, the men became 3.23 years younger on average in comparison with the control group and 1.96 years in comparison with their own indicators before the start of the study.
“The combined treatment program was aimed at a specific biological mechanism called DNA methylation, in particular its features associated with biological age. We suspect that this is what caused the program's astonishing performance. Our approach is unique in that it uses a safe non-pharmaceutical nutrition and lifestyle change program. We are now recruiting participants for a larger study that we expect will confirm these findings, ”said study lead author Kara Fitzgerald.
Earlier, British scientists found a way to slow down aging through a diet. They found that intermittent fasting improves memory and triggers the generation of new neurons in the brain.
