The US received Russian responses to its proposals for security guarantees in Europe. This was reported by the CBS television channel, citing an unnamed senior representative of the State Department, RIA Novosti reports.

“We can confirm that we have received a response from the Russian Federation. It was handed over to [U.S. to Russia] Ambassador John Sullivan in Moscow today,” the television channel quoted an anonymous State Department official as saying.

On February 17, John Sullivan arrived at the building of the Russian Foreign Ministry. His visit lasted 15 minutes, after which he left the ministry without commenting to journalists.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced that the Russian side was completing the analysis of the American letter with proposals for security guarantees in Europe and was ready to send a response to the United States on February 17. According to him, the answer will be published in a few hours after sending to Washington.
