US ready for talks with Iran, warns against 'biggest mistake'

The US Secretary of State believes that the world has become “safer” after the strike on Iran's nuclear facilities.

Marco Rubio

US Secretary of State and National Security Adviser Marco Rubio has warned Iran against retaliating for US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, calling such possible action “the worst mistake they have ever made.”

He said this on the Sunday Morning Futures program on Fox News.

He said the American offer for diplomatic talks with Iran was still open and that regime change was “not a goal” of the United States.

Rubio noted that before the strike on Iran's nuclear facilities, the leadership of the Islamic Republic tried to enter into “fictitious negotiations” in order to “play” US President Donald Trump.

The US Secretary of State has dismissed concerns that US airstrikes on Iran's nuclear facilities could spark a wider conflict.

“I think the world is safer and more stable today than it was 24 hours ago,” he said.

At the same time, Marco Rubio stated that Iran could become the target of further strikes if it insists on maintaining its “secret” nuclear program.

Recall that in Russia the US strike on Iran's nuclear facilities was called a violation of international law and US President Donald Trump was accused of unleashing a new war
