Trump is ahead of Harris by one point.
Voter preferences have changed in the United States, with voters now showing greater support for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. Earlier, the representative of the Democrats, US Vice President Kamala Harris was ahead of her competitor.
This is evidenced by a national survey conducted from September 3-6 by The New York Times and Siena College, Bloomberg reports.
48% of voters expressed support for Trump, while 47% are ready to vote for Harris. However, the margin of error of this study is three percent.
The survey was conducted by telephone with the help of interviewers live in English and Spanish. 1,695 registered voters took part in it.
According to the results of the survey, 56% of registered voters believe that Trump will do a better job of handling the economy. At the same time, the majority (51%) of voters assessed current economic conditions as bad.
The poll also found that 28% of voters believe they need to know more about Harris, who became the Democratic nominee after President Joe Biden announced he would not run for a second term.
The publication recalled that Harris and Trump will meet on Tuesday, September 10, in the only scheduled debate before the presidential election, which will be held in November.
Recall that according to an Ipsos poll published on Thursday, August 8, Democrat Kamala Harris is ahead of Republican Donald Trump with a result of 42% against 37%.
