In November, orders increased 1%
Orders to US industrial companies rose faster than expected in November. The companies received 1 percent more orders than in the previous month, as the US Department of Commerce announced on Wednesday. Analysts had only expected an increase of 0.7 percent.
The increase in October was also revised upwards to 1.3 percent (initially +1.0 percent). Excluding transport goods, orders rose by 0.8 percent in November.
Incoming orders for durable goods also increased noticeably in November according to a second estimate. They climbed 1.0 percent on the previous month. In a first estimate, an increase of only 0.9 percent was determined.
