US indicted Russians for hacking and ransomware

The United States has charged six Russians with hacking. It is reported by The Washington Post.

The newspaper writes that they are all involved in “some of the most destructive cyberattacks in the world.” Among them are the attack on the Ukrainian power system and the spread of the NotPetya ransomware virus in 2017, which infected devices around the world and caused millions of dollars in damage.

It is noted that all the accused are allegedly employees of the Russian GRU.
