US House of Representatives approves Israel aid bill

The House of Representatives of the United States of America approved a bill to help Israel.

Military assistance to Israel

The US aid package for Israel provides for:

• $26.4 billion to help Israel;
• $4 billion for the Iron Dome and David's Sling missile defense systems;
• $1.2 billion for the Iron Beam protection system;
• $4.4 billion to replenish defense assets and services provided to Israel;
• $3.5 billion for the purchase of advanced weapons systems and other items through the Foreign Military Financing Program.

At the same time, $9.2 billion in humanitarian aid is provided, including emergency food, shelter and basic services for the population.

Now watching

The House-passed bill would provide additional flexibility for the transfer of defense assets to Israel from U.S. stockpiles held in other countries.
