Obama denied rumors that he has such a strong influence on Biden to independently persuade him to change his decision to participate in the elections.

Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States (2009-2017), said that the current head of the White House, Joe Biden, should change his mind about running for a second term in the upcoming elections.

Fox News writes about this.

A source close to Obama noted that he “continues to see his primary role as being an adviser to President Biden, as they have done for each other for many years.” However, Obama believes Biden was an outstanding president and defends him personally and the strong and historic achievements of his administration.

Barack Obama is also concerned about the “viability” of Biden's candidacy in the election , but emphasized that the current president can independently decide whether to withdraw from the election race. Obama noted that he does not have such a strong influence on Biden to independently persuade him to withdraw his candidacy from the presidential election.

Recall that Western media are reporting that Biden may withdraw his candidacy from the elections as early as this weekend. Democratic leaders, friends and key figures believe the incumbent US president cannot win this year's election.
