“US Elections Are Coming”: Bloomberg Points Out Threat to Ukraine

by alex

Russia continues slow, difficult advances along the entire front line in Ukraine. Meanwhile, the US elections are approaching, the outcome of which will have serious implications for Kyiv's ability to resist.

With the US presidential vote approaching, Ukraine's allies are concerned that aid to Kyiv could be cut regardless of the outcome.

This is reported in the Bloomberg article.

“Moscow's army will still be able to achieve tactical advantages on the battlefield despite new record losses, Western officials say confidentially,” Bloomberg writes.

Russia is losing about 1,200 soldiers a day in Ukraine, according to National Security Council spokesman John Kirby.

“Russian troops continue to advance in the eastern Donetsk region, control of which remains Moscow's immediate strategic goal. The stronghold of Ugledar was recently occupied, while the logistics hub of Pokrovsk is under increasing threat. Ukrainian forces are also gradually losing ground in Russia's Kursk region,” Bloomberg reports.

Meanwhile, the outcome of the presidential election in the United States does not promise Ukraine significant financial support in any case. And that worries allies.

A Donald Trump victory could force Ukraine to resort to a painful settlement of the war that would allow Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin to consolidate his grip on the country.

And while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has vowed to keep fighting, “the stark reality is that Ukraine's depleted military is heavily reliant on U.S. aid.”

In particular, some of Ukraine's allies have already begun to speculate on how the war might end: If Trump wins, having said he would resolve the conflict before taking office and making good on his threats to cut off aid, Ukraine's options would be severely limited, while Kamala Harris's victory would likely make it difficult for the United States to hold on significant financial support through Congress.

This is stated in the article with reference to Western officials who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Recall that the ally of the 45th US President Donald Trump marked the elections with a new scandalous statement about the war in Ukraine. J.D. Vance, the candidate for US Vice President from the Republican Party, said that the Ukrainians will have to “make this decision, because they are already too exhausted.”
