The large anti-submarine ship “Admiral Vinogradov” stopped violation of the Russian state border by the US Navy destroyer “John McCain” in Peter the Great Gulf. These accusations were reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense, according to a press release at the disposal of the Lenta.ru editorial office.
It is noted that the destroyer that violated the border invaded the country's territorial waters for two kilometers. It is emphasized that the “Admiral Vinogradov” also warned the American ship about the inadmissibility of such actions and the possibility of using a ramming maneuver to drive out the intruder.
In October, it was reported that a representative of the Chinese army made a demand for the United States to stop provocations: he accused the American destroyer John McCain of violating China's maritime borders. The representative of China stressed that his country is ready to take “all necessary measures” in order to ensure its sovereignty and security, as well as stability in the South China Sea. The statement was a reaction to the movements of the US military in the disputed area: then “John McCain” passed near the Paracel Islands, which the Chinese state claims.
