The vaccine will be given in two doses of 10 micrograms, which is one third of the amount that people over the age of 12 get.

A panel of experts from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has unanimously recommended a two-dose series of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5 to 11 years old.

Interfax writes about this with reference to the American media.

All 14 members of the expert group voted in favor of the recommendation to vaccinate children.

Next, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky will sign the recommendation, which will allow vaccination to begin as soon as possible.

Vaccination of children under age 5 11 years will reduce transmission of COVID-19 in the United States by 8% between November and March 2022.

The vaccine will be given in two doses of 10 micrograms, one third of what people over 12 years of age receive. Doses will be distributed at three week intervals. The vaccine doses for children will be delivered in different packages and administered using special needles for children.

1.9 million children aged 5 to 11 have suffered from COVID-19. Scientists have not found an increased risk of developing cardiac myocarditis as a result of vaccination. And those who are not vaccinated are at higher risk of contracting COVID-19, and getting coronavirus is much more dangerous for the heart.

Moderna may also obtain permission to vaccinate children aged 5 to 11.

The White House said there is a sufficient supply of vaccines in the United States to equip more than 25,000 pediatric wards and primary care units, hundreds of school and community health clinics, and tens of thousands of vaccine pharmacies.

Earlier it was reported that children's doses of COVID-19 vaccine from the American pharmaceutical company Pfizer more than 90% effective in preventing symptomatic infections in children aged 5 to 11.
