The House of Representatives of the US Congress approved the country's draft defense budget for fiscal 2022, which began on October 1. Reported by The New York Times.
363 congressmen voted in support of the document, 70 voted against. The approved budget is $ 768 billion. Now the document is to be considered by the Senate, if approved, it will be sent for signature to US President Joe Biden.
It is noted that, according to the draft budget, it is planned to allocate $ 300 million for military assistance to Ukraine, and $ 4 billion for the initiative of military containment of Russia.
Earlier it was reported that the US defense budget for the coming fiscal year was presented without sanctions against the Russian Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. The American authorities also refused to impose restrictions on the national debt of Russia and Russian individuals suspected of violating human rights.
