US closed block of Guantanamo prison for dangerous criminals
The US has closed the block of Guantanamo Bay in Cuba for the most dangerous criminals, reports NBC News , citing the US military.
It is noted that the prison staff “safely and without any incidents” moved all prisoners from camp No. 7 to the adjacent building No. 5. The strictest conditions of detention were maintained in the closed block. Now all 40 prisoners are on the territory of two facilities.
The closure of block 7 does not jeopardize the safety of staff and does not violate the current conditions of detention. However, this solution will help reduce operating costs.
