German political scientist Alexander Rahr, in an interview with Ukraina.ru, accused the United States of trying to show who is the boss in the world by humiliating their ally, Germany, for refusing to adhere to their anti-Russian policy.
The expert noted that the West, led by Washington, is trying to accuse Russia of preparing an attack on Ukraine and stop the implementation of the Nord Stream 2 project, in which, in addition to Moscow, Berlin has a key interest. At the same time, Russia has repeatedly denied accusations of preparing an “invasion” of Ukraine.
“A strike on Nord Stream 2 is in the interests of American geopolitics – to put not only Russia in its place and morally punish, and squeeze it further out of Europe, this is their plan, but also to put Germany in a puddle so that Germany obeys and understands who is the boss in transatlantic home,” Rahr said.
Earlier, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that Kiev is currently successfully blocking the launch of the Russian Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. He added that the project allegedly poses a threat not only to Ukraine, but to the entire European Union.
