More than 250 thousand US residents have died from complications caused by coronavirus infection. This is evidenced by data published by Johns Hopkins University.
This is significantly more than in Brazil – the second in the number of deaths – where more than 167 thousand people died. India is in third place: there are 131.5 thousand victims of COVID-19. Thus, the United States broke the record for the number of deaths among other countries.
According to the latest data, there are more than 11.5 million people infected with coronavirus in the United States. US President Donald Trump has said that his administration will not be quarantined due to coronavirus under any circumstances. At the same time, Michael Osterholm, an epidemiologist and member of the working group of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden on the fight against COVID-19, said that the United States is turning into a hotbed of COVID-19. He noted that it is now difficult to single out individual outbreaks of coronavirus in the country.
