US Army will cut costs on its programs to continue training Ukrainians – Pentagon

Money was allocated for the training of Ukrainians under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative program.

Ministry of Defense United States will have to make several tough decisions on funding sources in order to continue training the Ukrainian military.

The deputy press secretary stated this in an interview with Voice of America Pentagon Sabrina Singh.

She noted that money has been allocated for training Ukrainians under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative program. Singh stated that this is a long-term program aimed at strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities.

At the same time, Singh emphasized that now the United States Army will have to make some tough decisions regarding where it will get money from: “Perhaps from other programs. Therefore, now is a difficult time not only for Ukraine, but also for the US Army”.

“We can't just ignore those Ukrainian military personnel who come to Europe or the United States to study and send them back to war. Our army, our services will have to start talking and making some tough decisions that “will impact the entire military. There is a combination of different pieces of funding that help support this training. But if we continue to operate without proper funding, our military will incur even more costs,” a Pentagon spokeswoman said.

Recall that it was previously reported that US President Joe Biden will meet with the Speaker of the House of Representatives to unlock aid for Ukraine.

In addition, we previously reported that the White House named a condition under which a victory for Ukraine is still possible.
