US approves emergency vaccine for Pfizer

The Federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has approved the use of BioNTech / Pfizer's vaccine in the United States in an emergency. This was reported on the CDC Twitter page.

“The CDC has approved the Immunization Committee's recommendation to authorize the first use of the COVID-19 vaccine for people 16 and older. Employees of the health care system and patients of long-term care institutions should be the first to be vaccinated, ”the regulator says.

The vaccine can now be officially used in the United States. The first shipments in various cities and states (at 636 points) will be delivered shortly.

On Friday, December 11, the FDA recommended management approval for the Pfizer / BioNTech coronavirus vaccine. FDA experts have called for approval for fast track vaccine registration in an emergency.

There are currently several COVID-19 vaccines in the world. Thus, two vaccines are registered in Russia: Sputnik V and EpiVacCorona. On December 5, Moscow started vaccination against coronavirus with Sputnik V. Pfizer / BioNTech has registered a COVID-19 vaccine in the United States, and another Moderna vaccine is on the way. Also, the British pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca announced the beginning of clinical trials for a combination of its AZD1222 vaccine.
