Up to 30% of Ukrainian infrastructure destroyed by war

In only 54 days of full invasion, the cities of Ukraine experienced a lot of destruction. Russia has already destroyed 30% of all infrastructure.

But everything can be returned approximately in 2 years. Minister of Infrastructure Alexander Kubrakov said this on April 18.

What kind of destruction

To begin restoration, you need to have at least $100 billion. Our country plans to take this money from several sources.

We are talking about the specific destructive impact of Russian aggression on infrastructure facilities:

  • over 8 thousand kilometers of roads;
  • over 300 bridges;
  • dozens of blown up railway bridges.

However, if we take into account the destruction of houses and vehicles, then it's much more damaging. In total, the Kremlin attacks have caused Ukraine $500 billion in damage.

Virtually all components of our transport infrastructure have suffered in one form or another. 20-30% of all infrastructure with varying degrees of damage and different levels of destruction, the minister stressed.

He added that in the territories that repulsed our troops, reconstruction has already begun. They are partially repairing roads and creating temporary crossings over rivers.

Who will pay for the restoration

Kubrakov emphasized that he expects support from the West for the rebuilding. However, this is not the only funding option. First of all, they will make efforts to recover compensation from Russia's assets.

After all, they are now frozen in almost all major countries. Therefore, it is only necessary to develop an effective mechanism for the withdrawal of funds in favor of Ukraine.

I believe that it is fair that such a mechanism has never been used … There have been no precedents yet. Has there been a precedent for one country attacking another in the 21st century? Kubrakov asked.

It should be noted that the US is already developing a relevant bill. Probably, in order to take the bloody money of the Kremlin, Ukraine will only have to sue Russia in an American court.
